Dr Shaikha Al-Sanad is the program manager for the Sustainability & Reliability of Infrastructure Program at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). The team is involved in risk and reliability assessment of infrastructures, structural health monitoring of various infrastructures in Kuwait (Tall buildings, bridges, and wind turbine towers), computational modelling and reliability analysis of concrete structures, and geotechnical modelling.
Dr Shaikha’s currently leading a couple of ongoing projects on structural optimization of wind turbines in Kuwait, a white paper on infrastructure, and risk assessment of mega projects. Her research interest extends to the areas of includes, structural reliability of wind turbine structures, SHM of infrastructures, risk assessment of megaprojects, Research interests extend to the areas of asset management, risk and reliability engineering, construction project risk management, the identification and mitigation of the risks of construction, building procurement, sustainable built environment and sustainable assessment of building performance, project complexity, and the design of change support tools and project management techniques to reduce carbon footprints, supply chain management, and statistical analysis.
