Registration is free of charge. You can register yourself and also other colleagues (up to 10 people).

After you have registered, you will receive two emails: one from Eventbrite with your ticket, and 15 min later, one from SCHED inviting you to create your username and password (these will be your  SCHED login details to access the conference each time).

Once you have your SCHED login details, you can select the session(s) you would like to attend and be able to see the ZOOM link to join your selected sessions.

Dr. Assis is biologist with PhD in Ecology and Natural Resource Management at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU).
He has more than 15 years of experience with projects on biodiversity and conservation in Amazonia. Across his carrier, has develop studies on forest degradation and restoration, habitat fragmentation, effects of land-use changes on carbon storage and biodiversity, sustainable management of forests by traditional communities, mitigation of forest impacted by mining activities, among others. Dr. Assis also coordinates training programs involving graduate students from different countries focusing on experiencing in situ the different aspects and landscapes across the Eastern Amazonia.
Dr. Assis is employed at the Natural History Museum (Oslo, Norway) and, since 2019, is the project coordinator of the Biodiversity Research Consortium (BRC), collaboration between universities from Brazil and Norway, and the mining company Hydro Norsk. Some of the main objectives of the consortium are promoting researches on post-mined areas, strengthen university - industry partnerships, and improve the scientific international collaboration in the Amazon.
