Philippa Ngaju Makobore
Philippa Ngaju Makobore has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta and a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Engineering, Biomedical Engineering specialization from Purdue University. She has over 10 years experience leading R&D of appropriate and affordable medical devices primarily for low resource settings and was an advisor for global health startups commercializing medical technology. Philippa led innovation programs in the life sciences and ran impactful programs for life sciences ventures at the Hunter Hub at the University of Calgary, she is currently pursuing her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary focusing on point of care bio-integrated technologies to understand the interplay of disease biomarkers for precision diagnostics. Philippa has received several prizes and awards for her work designing medical technology for low resource settings.
