(REF 19053) Taking the leap: how to transition from research into science policy and diplomacy careers as an early career professional
Transitioning from research into science policy and diplomacy careers can be challenging as an early career professional. It requires knowing how to translate global scientific knowledge for various audiences, building your skill set including in policy research and writing, and leveraging your writing for societal impact to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To have these conversations, speakers will include various players within the science policy ecosystem from around the world, many of whom made these career transitions themselves and can discuss them in the context highlighting the contribution of science and innovation to the SDG agenda. Speakers are a mix of early career professionals and more established professionals, and their perspectives would be applicable to a variety of audiences interested in science policy careers. Including science policy professionals and writers, these diverse panelists are highly invested in helping the next generation transition from research into science policy and diplomacy, and would provide a variety of perspectives on the topic.
