JOIN ONLINE SESSIONhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/83247444079?pwd=R2ZLdngybUFwaSt0Njk1NFNFWjBYZz09Our industrial meat production system is a threat to humanity that is even more dangerous than fossil fuel production, with serious jeopardy to humanity across climate change (SDG13), biodiversity loss, food security (SDG2), antibiotic resistance (SDG3), pandemic risk (SDG3), and more (SDGs12 & 14).
All forecasts by agricultural economists indicate that meat consumption is going to rise inexorably, by between 50 and more than 200 per cent by 2050. On climate specifically, it will be
scientifically impossible to meet Paris’ goal to keep climate change below 1.5°C unless industrial meat production goes down, and that will only happen if global consumers are offered a replacement that meets price and taste expectations.
Just like the world is changing how energy is produced and cars are powered, we need to change how meat is made.
