The session on "Structures to Support of Sustainable Development Programs and Research at Subnational Level" will address the main low carbon and biodiversity agendas in South America. The session will begin with the institutional presentation of ICLEI South America and its impact on local governments. An overview of the biodiversity agenda in South America will be presented, as well as the main projects developed and supported by ICLEI. In addition, the session will also address the low carbon agenda and the main projects and activities developed by ICLEI, as well as the involvement of local governments with climate compliance and the implementation of actions aimed at climate mitigation and adaptation. At the end of the session, there will be a debate on research and innovation in connection with local governments, with a presentation of the case of Belo Horizonte - Brazil.
